The Main Goal
Install bicycle repair stations in high use areas for biking and recreation in Kanawha Valley

The Purpose
The bicycle repair stations are a major benefit to the cycling community. They provide cyclists with many of the tools needed for simple repairs and will keep them on the road (or trail) while enjoying the beautiful routes throughout the area.

Environmental Changes

The repair stations enhanced overall appeal and usability of areas that offer routes for cyclists, such as Cato Park and Sunrise Carriage Trail

Stronger Health Equity

The bicycle repair stations are free to use, and are all in economically diverse communities, which allows for all community members to enjoy equal access.

The Bottom Line

This is Kanawha Valley Trail Alliance’s third year as a grant participant. They have installed six bicycle stands. They have made lasting partnerships with the City of Charleston and other area land managers.They continue to advocate for the conservation of natural areas and park lands for non-motorized trail access, and development of sustainable trail systems.
