Activity Plan
The West Virginia Physical Activity Plan (WVPAP) is a plan developed with the overarching goal of providing strategic direction to increase/maintain healthy physical activity levels of the citizens of WV.
We all know that physical activity is important for good health and that being active can improve our overall well-being and quality of life. The Center for ActiveWV aims to successfully impact the physical activity levels of our WV adults and children through collaboration, research, policy, and practice.

Be Wild. Be Wonderful. Be Healthy. is a 5-year project promoting increased access to physical activity and improved access to healthy foods in Boone, Braxton, Calhoun, Clay, Lincoln, Logan, Monroe, and Summers counties. This project prioritizes local solutions to health-related challenges in WV communities.
West Virginia University College of Applied Human Sciences, through a partnership with West Virginia Health Promotion and Chronic Disease, is funding projects statewide to increase physical activity.
The WV CARDIAC Project provides sustainable comprehensive risk factor identification, education, awareness and advocacy to engage and empower West Virginia children, families and communities to embrace a culture of wellness.
The WV Healthy Schools in Action mission is to cultivate a culture of wellness within West Virginia’s educational landscape.
Improving the culture of physical activity in our state by providing awareness, education, guidance, and opportunities.
