Project Outcomes

Building Capacity: Stronger Communities

The Run Club provides students with regular opportunities to build endurance, develop healthy habits, and enjoy physical activity with peers. Gaga ball has promoted active play, teamwork, and inclusive fun during recess and free time.

Environmental Changes

Has created physical and observable change by adding the new chair, the new tables, and the Gaga Pit to the school environment.

The Bottom Line

Impacts of New Equipment

The tables allow students and staff to enjoy outdoor lunches, while also providing space for family events that strengthen connections between the school and community. By covering the cost of Run Club coaches, they ensured the club could be offered in both the fall and spring. With an average of 40–45 students, the club has become a popular way for students to build healthy habits, improve endurance, and enjoy exercise with their peers. The addition of a Gaga Pit created an exciting and inclusive activity that keeps students active while promoting teamwork and social interaction. The massage chair gives staff a quick opportunity to relax and recharge during the day. Supporting staff maintains a positive environment where adults feel valued and energized to support students. Together, these additions have made a healthier, more positive environment for the entire Melrose community.
