The Bottom Line

Impacts of New Equipment

Spanishburg has commitmented to promoting health and wellness by expanding opportunities for physical activity with their School Health Action Plan. They invested in both indoor and outdoor physical education equipment, volleyball equipment, a gaga court, and versatile indoor fitness resources. In addition to their new equipment, they incorporated regular movement opportunities throughout the school day, included structured recess and brain breaks, and built partnerships with staff to encourage consistent use of equipment to promote inclusive participation for all students. As a result, students are more involved in daily physical activity and demonstrate increased enthusiasm during PE classes and recess. Teachers have noticed improved focus, better behavior, and increased readiness to learn following physical activity.
