
Education Sector Highlight: Safety Day & Health Fair | Mercer Elementary
Held annual Safety Day and a Health Fair. A wide range of community partners edcucated + provided hands-on learning for health, wellness, and safety.
Across Mercer County Schools, including Mercer, Melrose, Athens, Straley, Princeton Middle, and Princeton Senior High, students are finding new ways to move, play, and connect through quality physical education.
A simple but exciting addition—Gaga ball—has sparked enthusiasm across classrooms and playgrounds. The fast-paced game blends strategy and movement, keeping kids on their toes and eager to participate. Teachers have noticed that the game gets even the most hesitant students up and active, turning physical education into something everyone looks forward to.
With over 2,700 students, 450 staff, and 15 community members benefiting from the program, Mercer County’s schools are proving that fun and fitness can go hand in hand.
