Education Sector Highlight: March Mathness | Oakvale Elementary
Oakvale implemented a healthy month called March Mathness. This is a school-wide activity held every Friday in March where they compete in math relay races.
Schools across Mercer County are taking care of the people who take care of students. Through employee wellness programs, teachers and staff at Princeton Primary, Bluefield Primary, Glenwood, Brushfork, Oakvale, Montcalm Elementary, Montcalm Middle/High, and Pikeview High are finding new ways to recharge and stay active.
From yoga classes and walking treadmills to massages, tea, and coffee breaks, these schools have created spaces that encourage relaxation and movement during the day. The result is a more positive, supportive environment where staff feel appreciated and energized.
With over 190 staff members, 840 students, and 6 community partners involved, these efforts show that healthy schools start with healthy employees.
